The New Zealand Attitudes and Values Study (NZAVS) is a longitudinal national probability study of social attitudes, personality and health outcomes led by Professor Chris Sibley. This page contains information for study participants, as well as recent findings and media coverage from the study.

Dr Joseph Bulbulia awarded a Marsden Fund grant to extend the NZAVS in new directions

Dr Joseph Bulbulia from Victoria University of Wellington has just been awarded a Marsden Fund grant to extend the NZAVS in new directions. In particular, he will add recent migrants and religious/spiritual groups to the sample and follow up on groups who have experienced the Christchurch earthquakes. Because this project will continue over the life of the NZAVS, it will show changes in the role of religion in our everyday lives and create knowledge with enduring benefits for future generations of New Zealanders.

 

What Happens When People Feel Deprived In A System They Believe To Be Just?

NZAVS researchers Dr. Danny Osborne and Chris Sibley examine what predicts people supporting social movements. Their research also examined why it is that social movements tend to be quite infrequent.
