Welcome to the Department of Psychology
at The University of Auckland

Psychology is the study of the mind and behaviour. It is a wide subject that ranges from a strictly quantitative and scientific approach to one that is more qualitative and personal. It also ranges from the strongly theoretical to the eminently practical.

We offer undergraduate and postgraduate degrees via the Faculties of Science and Arts. At undergraduate level we provide students with a solid grounding in psychology while our graduate students are provided with the opportunity to specialise in areas such as neuroscience, social psychology, clinical and health psychology, industrial/work/organisational psychology, applied behaviour analysis, and speech science. Our academic staff members are recognised nationally and internationally for their research, and they provide excellent leadership to students undertaking studies in psychology at all levels. We have a strong postgraduate research programme offering Doctoral and Masters level degrees and several postgraduate programmes that lead to professional qualifications.

We welcome you to the Department! Browse through our website and see what we have to offer.
